If you’ve been keeping up with the Marsh blog, you’ve probably noticed that we’ve been talking about living gluten-free in our effort to help those who don’t understand it and help cater to those who need to have a gluten-free diet. Here are a couple of quick recipes we found on glutenfreely.com that we wanted to highlight, especially since we’ve recently talked about the antioxidant benefit that comes from berries. This smoothie recipe is not only great for those who need to keep gluten out of their diet; it’s also a perfect one for those who want to get their day off on the right foot.

Strawberry-Kiwi Smoothie

Prep time – 10 minutes

Total time – 10 minutes

Servings – 2

Recipe Details

Ingredients

  • 1 small apple, peeled, cut into chunks
  • 1 kiwifruit, peeled, cut into chunks
  • 4 medium fresh strawberries
  • 1 container (6 oz) Yoplait (r) 99% Fat Free creamy strawberry yogurt
  • 1/3 cup apple juice

Preparation Instructions:

  1. In blender, place ingredients. Cover; blend on high speed about 30 seconds or until smooth.
  2. Pour into 2 glasses. Serve immediately.

Boosted Yogurt Fruit Smoothie

Prep time – 5 minutes

RECIPE DETAILS

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup frozen mixed fruit (strawberries, mango and pineapple)
  • 1 container (6 oz) Yoplait® Light Fat Free very vanilla yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons ground flaxseed
  • 1/4 cup gluten-free natural flavor whey protein powder
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • Honey, if desired

Preparation Instructions:

  1. In blender, place all ingredients except honey. Cover; blend on high speed about 1 minute, stopping blender to scrape down sides as necessary, until smooth. Sweeten to taste with honey.
  2. Pour into 2 glasses. Serve immediately.
