Creating a Jack ‘o Lantern out of a carved pumpkin for Halloween is a time-honored tradition. In English and Irish history it was customary to carve out a turnip at Halloween. However, in the United States the turnip was replaced by the larger and more readily available pumpkin.
The Jack ‘o Lantern has since become the iconic image of Halloween and carving pumpkins has become a fun family past time.
This year, skip the generic spooky grinning face and go for something more creative and unique. But don’t worry if you aren’t the artistic type because we have five stencils for you to print out and follow along as you carve your pumpkin.
