Help the House that Love Built!
Marsh Supermarkets recently partnered with Jeff Foster of the Indiana Pacers, Republic Services and Tre Paper to fill the pantries at the Indianapolis Ronald McDonald House. McKee Foods (Little Debbie brand) also generously contributed snack items.
Marsh customers were offered an opportunity to buy a pre-selected bag of needed items for a $5.00 or $10.00 contribution. In exchange, customers who used their Fresh I.D.E.A. card when they purchased the bag were given a
coupon good for $5.00 off their next $50.00 purchase.
Republic Services collected the groceries from 43 Indianapolis metro area Marsh locations and delivered them to the Ronald McDonald House. Through this cooperative effort over $20,530 in much needed supplies were given to the Ronald McDonald house for use by families facing medical issues.
Items donated included: canned meats, canned pasta, individual servings of cereal, pudding and snack foods, muffin mix and muffin tin liners, non perishable toaster pastries, spices, etc.
Commenting on the food drive, Marsh spokesperson Connie Gardner stated, “We at Marsh are so pleased with the results of our second annual food drive for the Ronald McDonald House of Indiana. We want to thank our valued customers for participating with us in this effort. Being a parent of a child facing a medical concern is extremely stressful and we find it very gratifying to be able to help answer a need for these families.”
About Jeff Foster:
Jeff Foster made his NBA debut with the Indiana Pacers in the 1999-2000 season and was the first Pacers' rookie to lead the team in rebounding in a game since the 1996-97 season.
