Shopping for Energy Bars

Not all energy or protein bars are healthy choices so make sure you read the Nutrition Facts label to determine if the product meets your nutrition goals. Here are a few guidelines to get you started.

  • Calories: less than 200 calories per bar
  • Protein: more than 3 grams per serving
  • Fiber: more than 3 grams per serving
  • Fat: less than 2 grams of saturated fat per serving
  • Carbohydrate:
    • Look for whole grains as first ingredient
    • Contains less than 5 grams of sugar per 100 calories
