This very quick tuna recipe is a way to enjoy the nutritional benefits of tuna in just a few minutes without compromising the flavor. The stovetop searing method is a healthy way of cooking fish that does not use heated oils.
2 Tuna Steaks, about 12 oz.
2 Tbsps. Mirin Rice Wine
2 Tbsps. fresh squeezed Lemon Juice, divided
2 Tbsps. Soy Sauce
1 Tbsp. minced Fresh Ginger
3 Tbsps. minced Scallion
Salt and White Pepper to taste
Pre-heat a 10-12-Inch non-stick skillet over medium high heat for 2 minutes. While pan is pre-heating, rub tuna with 1 Tbsp. lemon juice, season with a little salt and white pepper, and prepare ginger and scallion.
Cook tuna for 1-2 minutes on each side, depending on thickness, and remove from pan. One minute will cook it rare. Place on a plate. Turn heat down to medium and add rest of ingredients to pan in order given, and cook for 1 minute. Season with salt and pepper. Pour over tuna and serve.
