Cheesy Swiss Steak
Definitely fitting the comfort food category, these tenderized beef steaks get smothered in a creamy mushroom sauce and generously topped with mozzarella and crisp onions.
- Makes 8 servings
1. Preheat oven to 350°. Lightly sprinkle flour over both sides of steaks. In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of the oil over medium-high heat. Brown steaks, 4 at a time, on both sides.
2. Transfer steaks to a shallow 13x9x2-inch baking dish. Whisk together soup and milk; pour over steaks.
3. Sauté pepper, onion and mushrooms in remaining 1 tablespoon oil. Place vegetables on top of soup. Top with cheese; sprinkle with onion rings.
4. Bake for 20 to 30 minutes or until cheese is melted.
