Decadent Caramel Apples

Caramel apples are a natural treat for fall celebrations. Make them even more alluring by using rustic sticks and loading them with more of your favorite flavors.

Caramel Apples


  1. Wash apples with purchased fruit and vegetable cleaner that removes wax. Dry apples and place on a baking sheet lined with waxed paper. Insert a wooden skewer or stick into each apple.
  2. In a large heavy saucepan, combine brown sugar, butter, corn syrup and condensed milk. Cook, stirring constantly, and over medium-high heat until the mixture boils. Reduce heat to medium. Continue to stir constantly until a candy thermometer reads 248° F (soft-ball stage). Remove from heat; stir in vanilla.
  3. Dip apples into the hot caramel and immediately into toppings of choice. Set onto waxed paper. Pack more toppings onto the sides with your hands, if desired. When cooled, drizzle with melted chocolate chips.
