Hot Chocolate Sauce

Homemade chocolate sauce has satiny texture that most jarred sauces can’t duplicate. So easy to make, this sauce is the crowning sweet to pour on ice cream, angel or pound cake or poached fruit. Or transform plain coffee to a mocha; just spoon in some sauce and stir.

1. In a heavy saucepan, combine sugar, cocoa, corn syrup, cream, butter and salt. Bring to a full boil over medium heat, stirring frequently.

2. Remove from heat and add vanilla.

3. Serve warm.

4. Refrigerate sauce up to 1 week.
