There’s nothing like a glass of icy cold lemonade on a hot summer day. This party-perfect concoction has fresh blueberries in the simple syrup. You can also use raspberries.

1. For blueberry simple syrup, in a medium saucepan combine water and sugar. Cook and stir over medium-high heat until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat. Add blueberries. Let stand for 2 hours to allow blueberry flavor to penetrate the syrup. After 2 hours, remove blueberries from syrup; discard.

2. For lemonade, strain fresh lemon juice through a fine strainer to remove any seeds and pulp.

3. In a large pitcher, combine lemon juice, vodka and blueberry simple syrup. Slowly add sparkling water. Serve in glasses over ice. If desired, garnish with lemon slices and/or fresh blueberries.
